Project case study
Paver Fire Pits & Seat Walls
A collection of recent hardscape builds: fire pits with metal ring inserts, curved seat walls that double the usable seating, columns with low-voltage lighting, and knee walls that give a yard its edges.

Fire features that last
Every fire pit here is built from segmental block on a compacted base, with a steel ring insert protecting the block from direct flame. Seat walls curve around them at sitting height, capped smooth, so the fire pit seats a crowd without dragging chairs across the lawn.
On the lighted project, the columns carry lantern fixtures and the seat wall has integrated low-voltage lighting, which is what keeps the space usable after the sun goes down without a floodlight glaring across the yard.
The base is the build
Florida sand moves, and a wall or pit is only as good as what is under it. Each of these builds starts with excavation and compacted base material before the first block is set. That is the part no photo shows and the reason these walls will still be straight in ten years.
